Noodles to soothe the soul....
Grim day today. Cloudy and cold. I have a day off and I want to soothe the inner man. Perfect time for some Thai beef noodles. Never get tired of this dish.

Well, it has been an age and I have been tardy in the extreme. I have been deeply busy with one thing and another. I promised to do this more often, but I am sad to say that I have been a very naughty lad indeed.
What news is there? Well, there are a few things. I have been promoted to the lofty heights of Charge Nurse. That, for the initiated, is the male equivalent of a nursing Sister. Was I surprised? Actually, I was. I was stunned in the extreme, to be honest.
I didn't honestly expect to be made a head nurse within my unit. Not so much about the clinical skills as the political climate. All that notwithstanding, I am happy to take on the role. It is nice to be in a position to actually influence and affect change. As long as it is for the good of all, huh? As was quoted in Spiderman: With great power comes great responsibility.
It is early days yet but it will be an interesting and added element to my current activities whilst in the workplace.
More to follow in the coming weeks and months......
I have just had some splendid news that has put a big, kick-ass smile all over my face. After my foolish prang in the early part of the year, I just got a call from a nice man who just told me that my beloved scooter, known affectionately as "The Beast", has been fixed and will be back in my possession again next week.
Hoorah! Let joy be unconfined. Oh, to be back on the road again. I forgot quite how much I dislike the early morning commute on the Jubilee line. I will also be revelling in the fact that I don't have to be jumping out of the pit quite so early of a morn. I know I don't save that much in the way of time, but the psychological difference makes all the difference in the world. Believe me...
So Friday I did something that I haven't done since my birthday last October. I went for a beer in my 'local'.....
For a local, it isn't really, given that it is about 7 miles from where I lay my head of an evening. It is, however, the place where all my mates go for a beer and I don't get to see them as much as I used to. Bad for social standing, but good for the liver and the bank balance.... Not sure when I will be there again. Till the next time........
....so this was the outcome. Not too shabby, even if I do say so myself. Basically, all knocked up together with stuff I found in the cupboard. That included my world-famous (in my head, at any rate) pesto sauce.
How did it taste? At least as good as it looks.....
And this is the reason why I don't mess about in the sea, wherever I go! I am with Billy Connolly on this one.....
Take two chicken breasts and whip something up for dinner that is a little more funky than this......
.......lets see what we can do, eh? More to follow.....
I am warming to this wee site. Easy to use and pleasant to look at. Two admirable qualities, I find. With that in mind, I have decided to post a vid I shot on the balcony of my little pied-á-terre. Nasty and cold out. Good Lord, how it has been cold! Enjoy, my wee lads and lasses. Till the next wee tale....
Just trying this thing out again really. Also I wanted to see how the pics look as a group rather than as individuals.
Nifty, eh?
Like I said before, enjoy....
As I sit in the relative warmth of my humble abode in the depths of E3, I am taken by the abject nonsense that is the glacial weather conditions we are currently enjoying. The world has gone mad as well as entirely white and frosty.
It has hit us all in various and many ways. For myself, I am still smarting from a nasty tumble off me bike (the motorised version) as a result of forward motion coming into fast connection with black ice one frosty morn. I am glad to say that I came off better than the bike did, but it has meant that I have had to brave the weather on foot, albeit one gammy one now!
That being said, I have had the time to brush off the ould camera and take a few snaps and play with my Photoshop. So until the foot is back in working order, I shall be posting more of my photographic offerings. Enjoy......
